  Note on the wine producer

Gianluigi gigi OrsiniLet's be honest, we are good friends with Gianluigi so our presentation might be slightly of part..but still very much true. Gianluigi Orsini, known as Gigi or Orso is not only a passionate wine producer and lover, he is also and especially a man of great heart and culture. He is a great knower of vines, of its soil, of its history.

In the municipality of Asti (Piedmont), in the north west of Italy, he produces about 10.000 bottles per year. His wines are absolutely great, like himself. They reflect his character: genuine, direct, passionate, generous. We have spent quite a few times together and its always a pleasure to be able make a conversation in front of him, some food and , of course, his lovely wines..

Barbera Vivace Tridesca

Tridesca 2008

red wine

Orso Gigi

Aromatized red wine

Characteristics

This is a special wine produced with Barbera d.o.c., aromatized with scented grass, chinabark calissaj, root of rhubarb and gentian, whose active principles are extracted by maceration at ambient with final adding of perfumed spices, between which the precious seed of cardamonio. All of this  expresses in a soft bouquet with much pleasant feelings.

This wine is optimal as digestive at the end of the meal, or in pair to cheeses.  Although nice with bitter chocolate, it best expresses its fine characteristics with nuts sweet chocolate. Its structure, character and harmony concur in its long conservation.
